Early and Personal Life:

Ben was born on 30th November, 1965 in New York, US. He was born to Anne Meara who was an actress and a comedian and Jerry Stiller who was an actor and a comedian as well. As a child he usually used to visit various sets with his parents. Since early age he had started experiencing the industry norms such as travelling, late night shows etc. His elder sister Amy has also appeared in various shows of his productions like ‘Zoolander’, ‘Reality Bites’ and many more. He had an interest in film making since childhood. In 2000, Ben married Christine Taylor in Hawaii. It is said they met while filming ‘Heat Vision and Jack’ which never got broadcasted. They even have two kids, Ella Olivia Stiller and Quinlin Dempsey Stiller. They announced their separation jointly in 2017 but on amicable terms and decided to co-parent their children. In 2010, he was diagnosed with Lyme Disease. In 2014, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer which was said to be cured after a surgery.

Career:

Ben made his acting debut in the show ‘Kate McShane’ when he was 9. He graduated from Calhoun School in New York where he did lots of theaters and sketch comedy. Later he joined the University of California as a film student. He did various acting classes and auditioning to land into a good role. While he was acting in various soap opera and Broadways, his performances were said to be poor and not appreciated and hence he started making short movies. He made a short film ‘The Hustler of Money’ which was parody of ‘The Color of Money’ and it was aired on ‘Saturday Night Life’. He then made a short film ‘Going Back to Brooklyn’ for MTV. The producers at MTV were impressed and they offered him a 13 episode show which was named as ‘The Ben Stiller Show’. The show got cancelled from MTV but then Fox Network got him another show with the same title. This got him critical acclaim and he also won an Emmy Award for “Outstanding Writing in a Variety or Music Program”. After that he was a part of various films mostly in comical character and also did cameo roles. In 2006, he did a lead role in the movie ‘Night at the Museum’ which gained him around $115 million in just 10 days. After that he was writing and co-producing various films.
