The second season follows the events ten years after the first season left-off. Now, Earth doesn’t look as lively as before. In this alternate history, the series features Ronald Reagan becoming the president earlier than he really did. We also see superpowers relations that prompted more resources to be poured into space exploration. Other examples of real timeline divergence in the series are the few events in the Three Mile Island nuclear accident and the Camp David Accords that brought peace between Israel and Egypt.
What Took Place in the Previous Episode?
The title of the episode is “Rules of Engagement” and it aired on 5 March 2021. Andrew Stanton directed this episode written by Stephanie Shannon. Here’s a quick recap of what happened in the third episode of season 2. To start with, the Americans sent guns to the Moon so that they can take the Lithium mining site back from the Soviet Union. Moreover, Margo leans from Aledia’s boyfriend, Davey, about the chances of Aledia deporting if she cannot hold her job. So, Margo offers Aledia a Systems Engineer position at NASA as a way to reconcile with her. However, Aledia refuses to accept the job to avoid embarrassment as he has been fired from all her previous jobs for behavioral issues, even though her skills were always acknowledged.
Aledia breaks up with Davey after the latter tries to convince her to take the job. She believes Davey was being irresponsible for going behind her back and telling Margo about her situation. Furthermore, we also see Tracy’s exploits in The Outpost ending after she calls for Gordo’s help. This adds fuel to their feud and may affect their future mission assignments. Later, Kelly tells everyone that she hopes to attend the Naval Academy in Annapolis. Even though Karen seems fine with it, but Ed is furious with her decision, as he doesn’t want to lose Kelly like he lost Shane. However, everyone soon realizes that Kelly should live her own life and they should allow her to attend the academy.
What to Expect From For All Mankind Season 2 Episode 4?
The title of the episode is “Pathfinder”. Andrew Stanton directed this episode written by David Weddle and Bradley Thompson. According to the official synopsis of the fourth episode, Ed will plan a career change with the help of Molly. Moreover, his old Jamestown crew mates Gordo and Danielle will struggle with their own work issues. Also, we will see President Reagan wanting NASA to take back the Lithium mining base on the moon that the Soviet Union had captured. Moreover, as they commence the preparation to reclaim the mine, Bradford promotes the use of arms on the moon. The title of the episode is named after NASA’s most sophisticated space shuttle “Pathfinder”, which can be armed. The upcoming episode will explore more details about it. The series will also feature Ed’s vulnerable state where he breaks down in front of his family. Moreover, Karen will most likely try to help Ed in getting back to pursuing his dream and quitting his desk job. With the way the series is focusing on Ed’s dilemma, it won’t be a surprise if we see Ed leading the Pathfinder mission as a way to redeem himself.
