Mixed-ish Season 2 Premiere Date

Mixed-ish season 1 premiered on ABC on September 24th, 2019. After a total of 23 successful episodes, it ended on May 5th, 2020. With an average of 3 million viewers per episode, it seems like a season 2 is in the books for sure. These numbers are at par with its counterpart- Black-ish, which was running its sixth season at the time. With all the positive news surrounding the first season of this series, we have our fingers crossed on the release of a second season, though there seems to be no official word as yet. Because of the delayed filming due to the coronavirus pandemic, we can expect a season 2 sometime in 2021!

Mixed-ish Season 2 Development

In more news, Mariah Carey recently revealed that she did indeed record the series theme song, which is titled, “In the Mix.” The song was written and produced by Mariah Carey and song-writer/ producer Daniel Moore and made it to number 9 on the Billboard U.S. R&B Digital Song Sales Charts. Carey is expected to appear as a guest on the show. In the promos, The family is called “the Johnsons,” even though Harrison and Paul have the surname, Jackson. This means that her maternal family still uses the name Johnson. On October 28th, 2019, the series received a full-season order of 23 episodes!

Critical Response To The Show

On Rotten Tomatoes, Mixed-ish holds an approval rating of 80% based on 20 reviews with an average rating of 7.08/10. The critical consensus on the website reads, “While it needs more time to establish its comedic voice, mixed-ish and its appealing cast are off to a sweet and smart start.” Overall, the response to the new series has been excellent, and fans seem to have received it exceptionally well!
